Out of the Mist

I took the reference photo for this one on a day that started out foggy, and then cleared to a very hot, humid, but sunny day. Before the fog cleared, I got this cool picture of the disappearing horizon, some mist-hidden beach trappings, and this man just walking out of the mist. I've been wanting to paint this picture for a while now, but finally was inspired when I managed to get hold of some more of these 4 x 12" canvases. These gave me the perfect size to capture the essence of this image!
