  Azaleas? Or Are They Rhododendrons?
Oil on Gessobord
9 x 12 "

The Plant Parade Challenge was rhododendrons, but we discovered that botanists lump together both azaleas and rhodos. So, I took the reference photo at the Azalea Festival at Sayen Gardens (in Hamilton Square, NJ), but painted them for the rhododendron challenge! But I think they're azaleas to a gardener, even if the botanists don't make a distinction! Oh well...I think they're beautiful flowers, whatever you choose to call them!
