I took the reference photo for this a few years ago in our back yard...the rose bush was struggling, but this last rose was just beautiful, catching the light from behind! It's been begging me to paint it ever since, and I finally did it! I'm not sure I did it justice...God's work is always so much better than my attempts to show the beauty He created!
